Technology Consulting.
Architecture and platform decisions made with the engineers who'll live with them.
What it is.
The work that comes before code: architecture decisions, platform selections, build-vs-buy calls that compound for years. We engage when the choice is consequential and the wrong answer costs more than the engagement itself. We assess your current stack against where you're trying to take the business, evaluate options against your team's capability profile, and dig into the trade-offs that matter (throughput vs. operational complexity, vendor lock-in vs. delivery speed, build cost vs. five-year TCO). The deliverable is a decision document with our recommendation, the alternatives, and the failure modes named.
How we engage.
Three phases. Each phase ends when its decisions are made and proven.
We learn the business and map the current stack against strategic intent. The phase resolves when we understand what the decision actually has to serve.
Vendor evaluations, architecture sketches, reference checks with engineering teams who've already made similar decisions, cost modeling. The phase resolves when the viable paths are costed and the trade-offs are named.
Workshop with leadership: the pick, the alternatives, the failure modes.
What you get.
Who this is for.
You're choosing between major platforms and the decision will compound for years. You're modernizing infrastructure and the path forward isn't obvious. You've inherited an architecture decision you're not sure about. Your team is stretched and you need a sounding board with implementation depth.
Why Quest1.
Practitioners, not advisors. We have certified depth across our partner ecosystem (ClickHouse, Ditto, MongoDB, AWS, GCP, Azure, Temporal, and others), so our recommendations come from what we've built.
Working through a consequential decision?
We'll help you see the trade-offs and recommend the path we'd take.
